Prologue

For ages, human beings have been looking to the sky, searching, and asking for the answer of eternity. Life ebbs and flows while yesterday’s ocean becomes today’s desert.
Power, glory, and wealth all transform into dirt and dust as time passes by.
Only the pure heart and good nature quietly root deep inside
Never ever to vanish

In the turbulent mundane world
Brave-hearted men return to being truthful, compassionate souls through worldly hardships and sufferings.
Their perseverance remains as still as a big, tall tree reaching the sky
Yet when the storm approaches, he uses his trunk to hold up the sky of hope for all clear minds with consciences on earth
And after the storm passes, he spreads the seeds of hope onto the earth.
The seeds root and sprout with the coming of springtime, growing up to become more big, tall trees

Maybe one day the people in this world, no matter rich or poor, will realize the true fundamentals of happiness: truthfulness, compassion and tolerance; the virtues that are protected by those tall trees in the stormy night

Part One--Truth

Two thousand years ago, the notorious tyrant of the ancient Roman Empire Nero burned the city of Rome intentionally to frame Christians for arson in order to incite public hatred towards them. Innocent Christians were described by authorities as superstitious, anti-social, anti-human, and that they were harboring political purposes. Therefore, Christians were sent to the Coliseum and killed by beasts. The Romans were deceived by lies through which some even applauded the conduct displayed in these cruel and ruthless scenes. Most of the Christians chose to uphold their beliefs through peace, compassion, and tolerance regardless of being imprisoned, tortured, mistreated, and murdered. Afterwards, more and more Romans came to know the truth and were touched by Christian’s nature of benevolence and endurance. For the past twenty centuries, the glory of the Roman Empire has long been forgotten by people through the passage of time, yet the immortal spirit shown by Christians against the power, violence, and accusations have stood the test of time throughout the generations.

On January 23rd, 2001, an incident of “self-immolation” took place in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square and was promptly know worldwide through China’s propaganda spreading state-controlled media. The impact is stunningly similar to the burning fire in ancient Rome. In the overwhelming broadcasting in TV, radio, and newspapers, the “self-immolators” were said to be Falun Gong practitioners. The objective was to instigate public hatred towards Falun Gong, and soon public anger did arise. However, what the public did not realize immediately were the countless suspicious points of the event and the under-covered conspiracy of the news article.

Self-Immolation or Deception?

Maybe the CCTV (China Central TV) was simply lucky by having the Tiananmen Square self-immolation clearly shot on video with close-up, on-the-spot footage. That being the case though, if we analyze the footage in slow motion, we can see that while Liu Chun-Ling struggled in the smoke, she was struck on the head by something from behind. She was knocked down to the ground, and a stick-like object quickly bounced off her head and dropped several meters away with an extremely fast speed. So our question here is: who struck her? If we were to pause the film at that exact moment, we can see a moving arm close to the head of Liu Chun-Ling. Behind the policeman in a military uniform, a man in an overcoat is standing at the spot from whence the object came. We can even infer from his posture that he has just performed a motion requiring force. As Liu Chun-Ling fell, she raised her left hand toward her head.

The International Education Development [IED] submitted an analysis of the footage of the self-immolation case. In August 2001, this case was identified as a staged murder arranged by Jiang Zemin’s regime. In November 2003, a documentary called “False Fire” was published in English; it analyzed all the suspicious aspects of the event. Due to its rigorous and realistic nature and exposure of the truth, “False Fire” won an Honorable Mention in the 51st Columbus International Film and Video Festival. One year after the incident, under international pressure, the CCTV broadcasted more self-immolation news to justify the event as being true. Yet the critical scenes that promulgated the inside story were never explained.

Who Shot the Footage?

If we take a closer look at the footage, we can see that the close-up and Ad-Hoc scenes were shot thoroughly within a very close distance. According to the CCTV report, CNN journalists recorded the close-up shots. However, Eason Jordan, the head of the International Department of CNN stated that CNN did not film anything, because at the beginning of the incident CNN reporters were arrested and their equipment was confiscated.

So then, who shot the footage? On February 8th, the Washington Post indicated that the self-immolation close-ups were apparently filmed without any police interference. Yet there were some scenes of the event taped by the surveillance cameras in Tiananmen Square, and these showed that there was a man filming on the spot with a small home video camera, which was not a camera used by journalists. Who was this man? And more importantly, why didn’t the police stop him and confiscate his equipment like the CNN journalist? Maybe he was a member of the police force, and that is why he was allowed to be there? But no matter who he was, why would Jiang Zemin’s regime lie about his identity when questioned by overseas media? Could this self-immolation been known of in advance, was it prepared for and arranged? If yes, what does that mean?

The Secrets in the Hospital

Liu Siying, a 12 year old girl, was the most crucial person in instigating public hatred towards Falun Gong among all the self-immolators. However, there are many unsolved puzzles surrounding her.

(Speaker: Doctor Li Chi) – “We received four patients. They all had serious inhalation wounds to the trachea. They were in danger of choking to death at any time. So while we operated on their surface burns, we immediately performed a tracheotomy.”

The area of the tracheotomy mentioned by Dr. Li Chi is under the trachea. In a tracheotomy, a tube is inserted in the throat below the vocal chords to allow the patient to breathe. The patient cannot use his mouth to breathe, and air cannot reach the vocal chords and larynx, so the patient cannot speak. It takes many days for an adult to recover from this condition, so naturally the time is also long for a child. If a patient really wants to speak, he has to cover the tube opening, but the voice will be intermittent and unclear. This fact being the case, four days after the operation Liu Siying talked loudly and clearly with interviewers without problem.

(Speaker: Pom Yubing, former researcher for the U.S. health head office) – “The greatest danger for patients like her is bacterium infection. Infection shock is the primary reason of death for patients with large area surface burns. Therefore, in all modern hospitals, this kind of patient has to be placed in an isolated, sterile room. But look at this interview, the interviewer was not even wearing any sterile clothing or a mask. The reporter interviewed this girl in a close proximity with a microphone; this is inconceivable from a medical perspective. Why? Because the bacterium from the reporter’s saliva can result in severe threats to the life of the young girl, not to mention the bacteria brought in by the microphone.”

However, two months later after the incident, Liu Siying suddenly died and these misgivings subsequently turned into unverifiable questions.

The Doubtful Self-Immolation Coordinator

Wang Jindung was said to be the self-immolation coordinator, but his words and actions are very contradictory. He claimed that he started practicing Falun Gong in 1996; however as a practitioner of several years he did not even know correctly the most basic hand position called “Jie Yin”. Please pay attention to the plastic Sprite bottle between his legs; it was used to carry the gasoline to ignite him. We can see from the footage that his clothes were burned, but the bottle between his legs was not distorted or damaged amidst the heat of the flames. How could this be? Something doesn’t seem to be adding up?

Conspiracy behind the Lies

Behind these problems of incongruent facts lies the possibility of conspiracy. Still, all the participants of the self-immolation case, no matter what their movies may have been, have lost their precious lives, their morality, and their consciences. People that have killed, cheated, and instigated hatred to justify the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners have hurt themselves as well as others.

The Mystery of Pitocin

To make an issue of Mr. Li Hongzhi’s birthday, in July of 1999, the “People’s Daily” spread an article that an 80 year old named Liu Yu-Fang claimed to birth Mr. Li in 1952 using Pitocin. It was also written that this event 48 years ago was remembered as clearly as yesterday. However, according to “Columbia Encyclopedia”, the particle structure of Pitocin was newly discovered in 1953, and it was not used until after 1953. We don’t know which pharmaceutical factory had produced the Pitocin she useed for the delivery back in 1952.

Numbers Talk

Since July 22, 1999, the Chinese state-run media has claimed that 1,400 people have died due to practicing Falun Gong. Later on, the figure was increased to 1,700. Regardless of the fact that these numbers were never proven, even if it were true that 1,700 people died that practiced Falun Gong and if there were about 2,000,000 practitioners in July 22, 1999 as the media claimed, then think about this. The annual average death rate of Falun Gong practitioners was less than 0.03%, while the average death rate of the national population was 0.65%. This unproven statistic, when looked at closely, actually ends up reflecting the amazing health benefits of Falun Gong even though it could be made up.

Selling Books for Money?

Chinese officials accused Mr. Li Hongzhi of selling books to make money. In fact, as the author of Falun Dafa books, it is reasonable and legal for Mr. Li to earn the copyright income through the national publisher. From 1996 to the present, anyone can download all of the Falun Gong books and related information from the internet free of charge. When seen this way, this accusation doesn’t hold up well.

Random and Vicious Quotes out of Context

Another excuse used by Jiang’s regime to persecute Falun Gong is that Falun Gong practitioners are supposedly not allowed to see a doctor. The CCTV quoted from the Mr. Li’s Dalian speech completely out of context as evidence for this allegation. However, what Mr. Li was saying was that practitioners shouldn’t use qigong to cure other people’s diseases so that they wouldn’t harm their own health. The CCTV deleted the context and twisted his words so that they sounded as if practitioners were not allowed to go to hospitals. Below is the deleted context: (Speaker: Mr. Li Hongzhi) “It is important for practitioners to clean out your own bodies. When you try to cure others, the patient will form a field with you. All the black, ill energies will then go to you. The more he has, the more you get.”

The following section is the only part used by the CCTV: (Voice of Mr. Li Hongzhi) “Practitioner cannot go to see the doctor, if you go, I will withdraw all mechanisms I gave you.”

In fact, Mr. Li also said in his speech, “Can the hospital cure the disease? Of course! Hospitals can cure, if not, who would go to hospitals? Medicines do have an effect.”

The Inside Story of the Peking Murder

In the evening of December 16, 2001, the CCTV reported the news of Peking resident Fu Yibing killing his parents and wife and related Fu to Falun Gong. However, if you observe this man cautiously, you will realize that his mentality was not normal at all, and what he said was full of conflicting information.

(Speaker: Fu Yibing) – “I thought they were just a kind of shadow, a walking corpse beast, and chopping them was no different than chopping a pig, a cow, or a dog. Everybody has seen my wife and I as a sweet, good couple during the last 20 years of marriage. All the neighbors speak positively of us. I served my parents very dearly, I am also kind-hearted. If a friend has a thorn in his hand, I feel as if it were in mine.”

Listen to that, at one moment he says that he can chop animals cruelly, then the next moment he says that his wife was a walking corpse beast. Next he claims that he and his wife had a sweet, perfect relationship. Does he sound normal to you? In fact, according to his neighbor Mrs. Huang, we were told that Fu Yibing has been mentally ill since 1993.

(Speaker: Mrs. Huang, Beijing Resident) – “I have a colleague who is Fu’s relative living not far from where Fu resides. This colleague once told me that Fu often ran around naked from 1993 on. There was nothing his family could do about it.”

Fu Yibing also said that he was always practicing compassion, but after the compassion of the heart, the killing heart comes out and then he kills his parents and wife. Such absurd and ridiculous nonsense was broadcasted nationwide by the CCTV. This is not the rational composure or reasoning that is called for in Falun Dafa cultivation nor is it the compassion required in the practice.

Part Two--Purity

It is not unusual to hear solemn and elegant music played alongside a demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises or at a grand parade in Washington D.C. and many other cities around the world. But this scenario may seem as if it belongs to another world inside mainland China today. It has been five years since the summer of 1999 and the subsequent onslaught of horrendous accusations created by Jiang Zemin’s regime. However, during the past five years, under an immense national suppression, Falun Gong has not only survived this persecution but has also prevailed in more than 60 countries around the world and won great admiration and respect from people all over the world. This contrast between the on goings inside and outside of mainland China has set people’s thinking to truly wonder what Falun Gong is all about.

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, was introduced to the public in May 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi. Practitioners elevate their minds and spirits based upon the universal principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance” and purify their bodies through practicing five simple and gentle exercises. Through cultivation of mind and body, people can improve their physical health and elevate their moral standard as well as their spiritual condition.

(Speaker Fon Lili) – “In the past, I used to find fault with others. But after practicing Falun Dafa, I found, as other practitioners do, that I should look inward to see if I have done something wrong. Nowadays, intellectuals tend to be attached to fame and personal interests. So, at the time of promotion, it is a common concurrence that they fight against one another. But after reading Zhuan Falun [a book which contains the complete teachings of Falun Dafa], I have learned how to take things easy. Falun Dafa has extensively improved my physical and mental health. Its miraculous effects are why I think it attracts the attention of people from various classes, cultures, age groups and backgrounds. Among them are scientists, engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, scholars with PhDs or master degrees, and other outstanding figures from all walks of life. There are also some senior practitioners who had cultivated in religions or other cultivation practices for many years.”

(Speaker Li Yuan) – “Personally I think that I am a very rational person; I don’t easily believe in anything. But after reading Zhuan Falun, I admired it very much. I felt that it would be a valuable guidance for me in the scientific field, because it could help me realize how to make my research benefit more people.”

(Speaker Yang Shen) – “I was not sure how much I understood of the book the first time I read it, but I was eager to learn more. This book was something I had sought for all through my life, as I found the answers I was looking for in it.”

(Speaker Fon Lili) – “As ordinary people’s moral standard is declining and the world is chaotic, being a Falun Dafa practitioner, I think that it is my responsibility to help rectify the chaos. As a result, I rectified myself first, and then I helped others to rectify themselves. Since more and more people are practicing Falun Gong, I believe the world can be rectified gradually.”

Before July 1999, wherever you went, cities and countries alike, you would see a lot of people practicing Falun Gong in parks or other open places. Many newspapers and television stations also widely reported the greatness of Falun Gong.

In 1998, five medical surveys were conducted in Beijing, Wu-han, Dalian, and Guangdong Provinces, and about 35,000 Falun Gong practitioners were surveyed. The results of the surveys indicated that Falun Gong’s disease healing rate was at 98%, with a cure rate of 70%. The people polled also had dramatic improvement in their mental and psychological well-being.

(Speaker Guang) – “In 1994, hospital check-ups indicated that I had an early stage of liver cirrhosis. I thus started to take medicine and was then admitted to a hospital. On the other hand, I also sought various types of therapies but each being to no avail. Then, I resorted to qigong. However, qigong didn’t really solve my problems either, and after reaching a certain level of practice, I seemed to have reached its end and found no new improvements in myself. Later, I kept looking for other means of treatment, and finally I found Falun Gong. In the past, being ‘healthy physically and mentally’ was just a fantasy. But now I really enjoy this state of being regularly.”

(Speaker Shu Wen) – “In addition to heart disease, I used to have a variety of problems with my organs. I practiced Taiji for over 20 years, but it did not improve my health whatsoever. After I practiced Falun Gong for two years, all of my diseases were gone. As a result, I think that Falun Dafa is an excellent cultivation practice.”

The major book of Falun Dafa is Zhuan Falun, which was selected by the Beijing Youth Daily as one of the top ten best sellers in January 1996. To date, it has been translated into over 20 languages and received a couple thousand awards.

In December 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi was granted several important honors including at the Oriental Health Expo in Beijing “The Award for Advancing Boundary Science,” “Special Golden Prize”, and “Qigong Master the most acclaimed by the masses”. On December 27, 1993, an Honor Certificate was conferred to Mr. Li by a foundation under the Ministry of Public Security of China. On August 3, 1994, Huston City awarded Mr. Li with the name of “honorable citizen” and “Goodwill Ambassador.” On October 12, 1996, Huston city proclaimed that date as “Huston Master Li Hongzhi Day.”

Since 1996, because of their outstanding contributions to human health and well-being, Mr. Li and Falun Dafa have received nearly 2,000 award and recognitions from various governments or organizations all over the world.

(Speaker Congressman) – “Falun Gong has contributed a lot to human’s well-being, and all the practitioners have benefited tremendously from it. In Canada, we can see the goodness of Falun Gong, and it can be seen in China as well. Falun Gong has brought back the values of ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance’ in China and the world. These values are the condensed cultural essence of China.”

(Speaker Lawyer Carlos) – After I started to cultivate Falun Dafa, my body and mind underwent tremendous changes right away. I have never been so healthy, and my attitude toward life has been changed as well. I have given up my attachments to competition. I have learned that I should look inward whatever happens.”

Since 1992, by word of mouth, Falun Dafa prevailed not only in China but also in 60 other countries across the world. In Asia, there are huge numbers of Falun Gong practitioners in more than 10 countries.

In Taiwan alone, the number of Falun Gong practitioners increased by ten fold after Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999. To date, there have been several hundred thousand people practicing Falun Gong in Taiwan. In the U.S. and Canada, hundreds of thousands of people have learned Falun Gong. In Australia and New Zealand, Falun Gong exercises can be seen in every big city. In Europe, from Iceland to Greece, from France to Ukraine, Falun Gong is quite popular among the masses. Also in South America and Africa, Falun Gong has been widely accepted by the general public.

Part Three--Pre-Storm

Those who have experienced serious traumas from political movements like “Anti-right” and the Cultural Revolution may sill remember the tense and austere political atmosphere of the time. After the implementation of opening and reform policies, the restrictions on people’s lives materially has loosened, however the strict control on people’s ideologies is still the same and in some aspects worse. All the Qigong practices that are involved with aspects of spirituality and that have a huge amount of practitioners are given limited space and under strict control, especially Falun Gong. Because of its rapid spreading soon after it was made public, it elicited concerns among certain individuals.

On June 17th, 1996, “Guangming daily”, a government-run newspaper published an editorial article criticizing “Zhuan Falun” as being so-called “pseudo-science”, although Beijing Daily had already selected Zhuan Falun as a top ten best-seller. One month later, the Chinese News Publishing Bureau, under the Propaganda Ministry at the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, issued an order to prohibit the publishing of Falun Dafa books with the excuse that the books were “promoting superstition.”

In 1997, Luo Gan, the secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of the CCP Central Committee, used his power to order a secret investigation of Falun Gong throughout China by police as an attempt to ban Falun Gong. Although these investigations failed to find anything wrong with Falun Gong, the police in certain regions began to monitor and fine Falun Gong practitioners and interfere with their daily lives. A gang led by Lou Gan’s relative He Tsohsiu started to publish a series of articles across the country attacking Falun Gong.

(Mrs. Chen voice) – “In May 1998, he attacked Falun Gong again on Beijing TV. We thought we should go to the TV station and tell the editors our stories and what exactly Falun Gong is. Then, we didn’t think much; we just went there with compassion to tell them what Falun Gong is, and to resolve the conflict. Many Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing TV to clarify the truth. They first sat in circles in the courtyard, and then started to share their personal experiences and understandings, as well as how they started to practice Falun Gong. When many people were talking, reporters from Beijing TV filmed them one after another. They also asked practitioners some questions, and the practitioners answered all of them.

Shortly after that, Beijing TV reporters exclusively went to the practice site in Yu Yangtang Park to interview practitioners. A few days later, the program was broadcasted on the TV. With practitioners’ compassionate clarification, the unfair treatments and unreasonable accusations which happened in the past were resolved accordingly.”

Their truthfulness and righteousness touched the hearts of those who didn’t understand them. In the meantime, the number of practitioners kept growing rapidly and steadily. In 1998, the outcome of an official investigation on Falun Gong by a team headed by Qiao Shi, formal chairman of the People’s National Congress, concluded that “Falun Gong has hundreds of benefits for China and for the people and does not have any bad effect.”

However, on April 11th, 1999, He Tsohsiu again published an article to attack and defame Falun Gong in a nationwide journal issued by the Tianjin Educational Institute. In the article, he claimed that practicing Falun Gong would make one go insane and hinted that Falun Gong might be like the Boxer Uprising (the Yi He Tuan movement).

The article had a very bad influence in society while on basis of lies. Concerned that if the truth wasn’t clarified, Falun Gong’s reputation would be damaged and their rights to practice be infringed upon, some practitioners from Tianjin went to the Tianjin Educational Institute and related organizations to tell them the true situation of Falun Gong. At first, the officials of the Institute met with the practitioners and said that they would make the correction. The next day, however, they changed their statement and rejected the correction.

More and more practitioners went to the institute hoping to clarify the facts through their first-hand experience. On April 23rd and 24th, the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Public Security dispatched about 300 riot police to beat the practitioners participating in the peaceful and lawful appeal. The authorities arrested 45 practitioners, while the police injured many more practitioners. The Tianjin City government officials told the practitioners that the arrestment was not within their control and if the practitioners wanted to appeal for it, they must go to the central government in Beijing.

News of the event was spread quickly. People felt an eerie pressure from the central government due to the unusual violence of the Tianjin City government and police. The practitioners firmly believed there was nothing wrong with following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, not to mention that their own experiences had proven that Falun Gong is good. With their trust in the government and with hope of dispelling prejudice, roughly 10,000 practitioners spontaneously went to the State Council’s Appeals Bureau near Zhongnanhai on April 25.

On the same day, Premier Zhu Rongji met with a few representative practitioners.

(Voice of practitioner Kao) – “When Premier Zhu was going to see foreign visitors off at the airport, he happened to see so many practitioners gathering outside. Therefore, he asked for someone to help understand the situation, and said that after seeing off the foreign visitors, he would meet with our representatives to listen to the details.

Our representatives put forth three requests:

1)Release the Falun Gong practitioner who were arrested in Tianjin;
2)Give Falun Gong practitioners a legitimate practice environment;
3)Allow Falun Gong books to be published.

Later that day, Premier Zhu Rongji commanded the Tianjin Police Department to release the practitioners and repeated the governmental policy of not interfering with people’s freedom of practice. At 10 p.m., the practitioners left quietly. They were so peaceful and orderly that they didn’t even leave a piece of trash behind.”

(Voice of practitioner Yang) – “At around 9 p.m. that evening, the representatives walked out of the compound and told us that we might appeal to the local Appeal Departments, and that the State Council’s Appeal Office would accept our requests. After hearing that, we were quite satisfied with the government’s response.”

The incident on April 25th was one of the first times the Chinese government solved a crisis through peaceful dialogue with ordinary citizens. International media highly praised the incident and thought it was a milestone for the Chinese governmental progress towards democracy. Many people found new hope for the Chinese government at that point. People also started to pay attention to Falun Gong, which they found to be a cultivation system made up of ordinary citizens from every walk of life, but that was exceptionally pure. All this gave those people confidence once again in their country.

(Practitioner Fon Lili) – “We were able to have a dialogue with trustworthy local governmental agencies. We were able to give our hearts to the government; we could trust and believe in our government. Before, we saw China as a nation composed of extremists, either being obedient or riotous. If they could not be treated as obedient, they would become violent. Throughout history, conflicts had never been solved peacefully. All of those conflicts were usually solved through violent means. In fact, what happened that day proved that Chinese people could adopt non-violent means. Apparently, this discussion with Falun Gong practitioners changed people’s violent characteristics.”

However, things didn’t turn out as people expected.

On the evening of April 25th, Jiang exerted pressure on the politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Military Commission to cooperate with him on the persecution. He also ordered his speech on Falun Gong to be circulated throughout the Party. Under Jiang’s direct order, on June 10th, 1999, the Central Party Committee officially set up an office for the “leadership group” and named it “the Head office for Handling the Falun Gong Issue,” also called the “610 Office.” Later they changed its name to “Anti-evil Cult Organization Office.”

As a result, an oppression campaign initiated by Jiang Zemin to eradicate Falun Gong was carried out nationwide.

What were the reasons for Jiang to persecute Falun Gong? It remained as something absurd to rational people. In the article “China’s suppression carries a high price” by Willy Wo-Lap Lam, a CNN senior China analyst, he points out, “It is no secret that several Politburo members opposed Jiang’s oppression campaign.” The reporter also quoted a CCP veteran saying, “By unleashing a Mao-style movement, Jiang is forcing senior cadres to pledge allegiance to his line … This will boost Jiang’s authority.”

He was also jealous of Premier Zhu Rongji for winning acknowledgement from the international community due to his proper handling of the April 25th appeal.

Chinese people all know that Jiang became president not because of his abilities or longevity in the Party, but because he was one of the first to side with the central government’s hard line approach during the June 4th Massacre. Many people inside and outside the Party have criticized Jiang’s lack of credibility as the president of China and as the chairman of the Central Military Commission. Therefore, it is clear that Jiang possesses the dark mentality of most dictators in his actions of suspecting, resenting, and eventually frantically persecuting Falun Gong.

By this time, the preparations for the persecution individually started by Jiang with the goal of weeding out Falun Gong were in full force. To thoroughly persecute Falun Gong was a political task assigned to all levels of government.

In the early morning of July 20th, 1999, a nation-wide hunt for and arrestment of Falun Dafa practitioners began. All volunteer Falun Dafa contact persons were arrested immediately.

On July 22nd, the CCTV broadcasted “Decision of banning Falun Dafa Research Association” from the Ministry of Civil Administration, the announcement of “Six Prohibitions”, and the notice of “The Communist members are forbidden to practice Falun Dafa” from the National Public Security Bureau.

On July 23rd, the News Publishing Bureau announced that all Falun Gong publications must not be reprinted or issued.

On July 29th, the National Public Security Bureau issued an international arrest warrant, No. 0102, to publicly list Mr. Li Hongzhi as wanted.

Soon books were burned, families were ransacked, properties were confiscated, innocent citizens were arrested, and everybody was forced to take sides, while the prevailing critiques and forms of misinformation appeared in newspapers, TVs, and on the radio.

And all of a sudden, it seemed that the Cultural Revolution had reappeared.

Part Four--Persecution

Zhou Yuan city is a small town in the northeast of Shandong Province. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it was the place where wanderers returned to the countryside for agriculture. At that time the town was named “Zhou Yuan County”; this name was used for thousand years.

On September 27th 1999, a female farmer was arrested by police while working in the field. Her name was Zhou Kin-Hwa, and she was arrested simply because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. Less than a month later, on October 7th, she was beaten to death. They beat her and beat her in an attempt to coerce her into giving up Falun Gong. “Will you give it up or not?“ they shouted. She remained truthful to her self by saying, “No!” until the moment she died. In this small, historic town occurred the first case of a Falun Gong practitioner being killed for not renouncing their belief. This happened within two months after the persecution was fully mobilized.

The persecution worsened rapidly. It began with the street bureau and police throwing cold water on practitioners during their exercises. Two months later, it escalated to beating up and even murdering practitioners for refusing to give up their practice. Since then, reports of practitioners being tortured and persecuted to death have never ceased. At the time, practitioners still thought that it was simply because the government misunderstood them, and that if only they could let them know that Falun Gong is good, then they would change their minds.

During that time, many peaceful appeals by Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing were posted on the Clearwisdom website. Since the persecution began, the authorities in China have strictly supervised and controlled the transportation in and out of Beijing to reduce the appeals from Falun Gong practitioners. In some areas, it is necessary to scold Falun Gong or Mr. Li Hongzhi before getting on public transports. To get around the barriers, many Falun Gong practitioners walk or ride their bikes across mountains and forests to get to Beijing.

A woman from Changbai Mountain, Jilin, was on her way to Beijing by bus to peacefully appeal. The police in Liaonin confiscated all of her property, and she ran away from them by herself in the snow. Due to this, she was forced to beg for food all the way to Beijing.

When a policeman questioned a farmer in Tiananmen Square about the contents inside his bag, the farmer simply showed him what was inside. There were a lot of shoes, and the old man said, “I wore out these shoes to be here just to tell you this: Falun Gong is good, and the government has misunderstood us.”

However, after their arrival in Beijing and after all the hardships they faced, these good people realized that the National Appeal Bureau had turned into the Police Bureau. There were no officials awaiting them to listen to their appeal; there were only policemen from all over the country there to arrest them.

Practitioners were illegally beaten, repatriated by force, and penalized of unreasonably large amounts of money. Many more were thrown into jail and forced labor camps. The persecution intensively worsened. More and more similar news stories were transmitted in and out of forced labor camps and prisons all over the country. Jiang Zemin released a secret order in the national public security system: “bankrupt them financially, defame their reputation, and destroy them physically”. It was even regulated that all of the social benefits such as police’s bonuses, promotions, and performance evaluations in forced labor camps were closely related to the number of practitioners denouncing their beliefs. It sounds like nothing unusual, because in Chinese society, it is easy to find that all the economic management systems are closely related politics.

But what the world was not aware of is that Jiang’s order and political pressure from above, in conjunction with the seduction of material benefits, had ruined the basic consciences of the policemen in the forced labor camps. As public servants, policemen are supposed to serve the citizens, now, however, they are doing whatever without moral restraint for their own, personal gain. Even when innocent people were killed, all they had to say for themselves was, “I am just following the orders from higher-levels.”

Thus, more and more Falun Gong practitioners suffered from inhuman tortures. Some died within an hour after detainment. Some died within a few months of unbearable torture. Some died of drowning by being kept in a torture device called “the dirty water cage” for several months. Some were burned to death, because the vicious policemen would pour gasoline on them and then light them on fire. Some suffered from long term electronic shocks to their genitals. And some female practitioners were even gang raped and eventually beaten to death.

(Voice of Shen Sheng) “As soon as we entered the forced labour camp, we were sent to the Dispatch Office. The only thing we heard was “lower your head”, while the next sound was the sound of electronic truncheons. Electronic shocks were served as regularly as three times a day. One instance that I saw was that of an unmarried female Falun Gong practitioner tied to a chair; then four to five big men shocked her genitals and her head until she lost all control and wet her pants. She immediately fainted, and it took her a very long time to regain consciousness. An older woman, over the age of 50, was trying to be forced to write a “give-up guarantee”, which meant that she would give-up practicing Falun Gong. When she said no, four to five policemen took off her clothes, threw her to the ground while stepping on her, and shocked her with four to five electronic truncheons simultaneously. The electronic currents were so high that her body began convulsing. The policemen stepped on her even harder, and after shocking the front side of her body, they turned her over to fry her back. Her whole body was covered with round, black burn marks.”

(Voice of Chen Gang) “They first began beating my whole body until it was full of wounds. Next, they tied my legs together, my hands behind my back, and my neck and legs so that they folded upon each other. I was smashed into the bottom of a bed and pressed down forcefully; I could hardly breathe. I was nearly choking to death and my waist almost broke. Another Falun Gong practitioner who had been treated the same way was handicapped for the rest of his life.”

In February of 2000, a 59-years-old retired autoworker from Weifang City, Shandong Province was arrested by the street office while walking down the street. She died from being severely beaten simply because she refused to denounce her belief in Falun Gong. Her name was Chen Zixiu. According to the Wall Street Journal, an angry police officer beat and shocked her using police sticks and electric batons. She was then forced to run barefoot in the snow. According to her cellmates and other prisoners who witnessed the incident, the two days of torture left her legs bruised and her short black hair matted with puss and blood. She clawed outside in the snow, vomited, and finally collapsed. She never regained consciousness and died on February 21st.

(Subtitle: Chen Zixiu’s clothes, soaked with bloodstains and abandoned in the corner of the street.) The killers who beat her to death were not punished at all, and on the contrary, they got promoted and received awards. Den Ping was promoted from a Probationary party member to an Official member. Gao Shinkong was praised as a pioneer and a good role model.

On June 19th, 2000, a 32 years old teacher Zhao Yi in Beijing Industrial College was illegally arrested because she went to exercise in ZiZu Yuan and imprisoned in the Beijing Heiding police office. The police fractured her cervical vertebra and made her a paraplegic; she also lost sight in her left eye due to the violent beatings by the policemen. After six months of extreme pain, she died on December 11th, 2000.

Chen Chenyong, a Guangzhou practitioner, died of torture in July 2001. His sister was sentenced to two years of forced labor camp because she practiced Falun Gong. Due to his tremendous loss, the father died from grief shortly there after. Jane Dai, his wife in Australia, and his young daughter were left all alone, doing their best to make a living to support themselves.

(Voice of Jane Dai) “I remember that day very clearly. Last July 26th, I lived with a practitioner Lee Min. Around 7 or 8 am, she told me, “Jane, come and take a look”, I immediately ran to the computer, I felt numb and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Shivering and shaking, I couldn’t say a word. As I turned around to look at FaDui, she resembled her father so much that I only saw my husband in her. I was all …. My heart shattered into pieces. “

(Voice of Zhao Ming) “There must be justice somewhere in the world, right? There must be human rights somewhere? As a human being, there must be a righteous standard, and there have to be righteous moral standards in society somewhere? So the whole persecution of Falun Gong isn’t simply just an issue of destroying our cultivation; it is more so about ruining the good nature in every human being. I have seen people who have agreed to be transformed. They cry out one moment and then laugh the next moment. They go insane, and I can understand their state of mind. They just… they could not get out of this. While they know so well how righteous and good Falun Gong is, they were completely forced to be so-called transformed. “

From the summer of 1999 on, in China, almost all Falun Gong practitioners who have insisted on practicing have suffered from restrictive brainwashing, mental torture, forced labor, unlawful sentences of life imprisonment, while many are tortured to death. Their relatives and friends have also been inhumanly treated

In front of this never before seen cruelty, should they denounce their belief? Or with diamond-like solidarity choose to uphold it? In such darkness, nobody knows how many Falun Gong practitioners have faced this choice of life or death, but history will witness everything.

On October 28th, 1999, 3 months after the persecution, about 30 practitioners risked their lives and got around strict surveillance to hold a S.O.S. press conference in Beijing. They shared with the overseas press media their personal experiences of how practicing Falun Gong had benefited them, and the cruel facts of how practitioners were persecuted. It was the first time that the whole world got to hear the voices of Chinese practitioners who were being held behind the barriers and blockades.

Among all the practitioners who participated in this press conference, most of them have since been imprisoned or made subject to forced labor camps. Ding Yen and Tsai MinTao have both been tortured to death. In October of 1999, a few hundred Falun Gong practitioners held up banners with the words “Falun Dafa” and “Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance” in Tiananmen Square to tell the world that they will still insist in their righteous beliefs. And still, nearly every day, people can see practitioners expressing their heartfelt wishes in a peaceful way by chanting: “Falun Dafa is good”, “Restore the good name of our Teacher”, “Restore the righteous name of Falun Dafa”, and “Falun Dafa is good”. Every day practitioners raise up their voices by using this most peaceful form of protesting. Sometimes there are groups consisting of only a few people, while sometimes they consist of a few hundred or even a few thousand.

A Falun Gong practitioner wrote in a letter to China’s regime, “My dear mother land. We truly wish that righteousness will be lifted up and everybody will treat each other with goodness in this land. It will bring true hope to this country. In history, how many royal, righteous persons lost their lives for telling the truth? Their spirits remain forever. For a bright and prosperous future, please treat Truthfulness – Compassion - Tolerance correctly. We don’t want to say too much about the unfairness and injustice that we have suffered. But if through this suffering we could raise more righteous thoughts and consciences, then we are willing to sacrifice ourselves without complaint or regret. “

All over China, in many cities and countries, people can read the banners of Falun Gong. In their mailboxes and at their front doors, they can find booklets and CDs. Even in public, people can see Falun Gong practitioners handing out flyers. Everything looks normal, but behind each flyer, there contains much effort and hardship.

In May 2002, Minghui posted an article from a practitioner in a small town in DongPei. She wrote: “I can show you where I got my money to make the flyers. Ten or twenty yuan with some full of wrinkles came to me through several hands. Some of the money came from the field workers selling vegetables or Tofu after work. Since they are many people respectively, sometimes they have given between two thousand and three thousand yuan. Some practitioners who used to have some savings would also give their own money to purchase machines when in need.”

Groups of people composed of citizens of all ages and from all walks of life support and maintain the belief of Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance through peace and steadfastness. They are ordinary citizens facing the propaganda machine of an entire nation controlled by a twisted dictator. The path is hard, for they realize that when they have just awakened a group of people, there exists yet another series of lies to deceive the citizens again in a thoroughly overwhelming way. And consequently, another group of citizens are drowned in the hatred instigated by the state-run mass media.

At 8pm on March 5th, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners inserted the broadcasting of a truthful Falun Gong film in 8 channels of Cable TV in Chang Chun City, Jilin province. The truth behind the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square was exposed, which helped to awaken many people. Many citizens in Chang Chun understood the truth behind the self-immolation after that event.

(subtitle: Self-immolation or Deception? Suicide or murder?)

They also began to think over many things concerning this persecution, because Falun Gong practitioners paid a great deal for this chance to let Chinese people understand the facts. The success of the broadcasting insertion resulted in increasing Jiang’s fear and outrageous anger. He secretly ordered to “kill at all costs” the practitioners involved in the broadcast. Afterwards, in the huge investigation and arrestment, at least 5000 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested and imprisoned. Fifteen were illegally sentenced to detention ranging from 4 to 20 years. At least 8 were tortured to death. Among all, Ho Minkai, who participated in the broadcast, was tortured to death two days after detainment. Another major player in the event Liu Chenchyuan died on Dec 26th, 2003 after one year and nine months of brutal torture while in detention. His body was incinerated within 7 hours of his death.

Is what they do against law?

(Voice of Li Dong) “In legal ideology from ancient Greece, one significant rule has passed on from generation to generation. This law stipulated that one must obey the moral standards admitted by the world. If not, it was considered an evil law. Therefore, if people who believe in Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance in a society have to be brainwashed by force and people who dare to tell the facts about the persecution have no place to go, then this so-called national Law and regulation is against man’s fundamental goodness, rational, morality and justice. “

(Voice of Wu) “In the persecution of Falun Gong, we can see a very absurd phenomenon. Which is that the national media can insult and attack an exercise group without consideration for its citizens. If they went for appeal in accordance with the rights stipulated by the Constitution, they would be unlawfully arrested and detained in forced labor camps in the name of “disturbing social security”. Under such surroundings, a group of people should dare to stand up and tell the world about the truth. It is not just a matter of upholding their own freedom of belief, but also a matter of upholding their freedom of speech. As the matter of fact, it is also concerns the rights of all humans. Therefore, from the top to the bottom, this right maintains the spirit of upholding the law, and for maintaining the worldly justice and dignity that has been paid with their lives.”

In November of 2003, a report stating that 821 Falun Gong practitioners had been tortured to death was described in detail. It was made public at the cost of human lives. However, the actual number of beings who have been tortured to death is much higher. According to an official internal statistic in China in early 2001, the actual amount of Falun Gong practitioners who had been murdered while in detention was around 1,600. There were also counted to be 6,000 practitioners who were unlawfully arrested and detained all over the country, and it was estimated that more than 100,000 people were being held in forced labor camps. A few thousands were detained in mental hospital and suffered from forced psychotropic treatments, and many more people have endured beatings, physical torture, and economic blackmailing from so-called justice executors.

During these last 5 years, because of cultivators’ compassionate and tolerant nature, this terrifying persecution has been relatively unknown in the world. Most people have led their own lives and worried about their daily errands completely unaware. However gradually, the spirit of practitioner’s never-surrendering belief and not being so-called transformed, along with their long-lasting sincerity and goodness has slowly seeped into the eyes and hearts of clear-minded and kind-hearted people across the world. People who have learned the truth have used different means to prevail the truth of Falun Gong and to stop this persecution. Some local officers have proactively protected Falun Gong practitioners who are in their jurisdiction, some policemen and workers for the 6-10 office have stopped involving themselves in this wrongdoing, and some prisoners in jails, who were used as torturers before, have started to practice Falun Gong themselves.

Part Five--Strive

Lyrics:
A chill wind blows, and rain falls all along
Ask not for whom we are walking so long
Sun rises, sun sets, endless are our cries
We wait, dreaming of your return home.

To save their relatives and fellow practitioners in China, Falun Gong practitioners have left their footprints all over Europe, America, Asia and Australia. Some are the footprints of teenagers, while some are those of the elderly. Weathered by the burning sun, torn by the chill wind, and hindered by all types of difficulties, each that have participated in the long marches have experienced hardship and fatigue. However, their smiles never faded as they spoke with every citizen and government official they came across along their journey. Their beliefs were pure and steadfast— to tell everyone about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the urgent need for rescue.

Adeli, a young Canadian man, joined the long walk with practitioners midway along the journey. He walked with practitioners for a week. On parting, he left them a letter, in which he said, “When I write this letter, my heart is filled with sorrow and happiness. I am sad because I can no longer be together with the best people in the world, but I am glad because I know you will touch more tender hearts as you’ve touched mine.”

Facing the harsh violence and overwhelming propaganda under Jiang’s control, some kind-hearted people could not help but deplore the evil persecution. “We have sympathy for Falun Gong, but what can we change?” they thought. However, Falun Gong practitioners didn’t give up. Just as their motion in the SOS walk, so they kept moving on, step-by-step, with strong persistence no matter if it was hot or cold. They endured tremendous pains and hardships themselves but still managed to share their sincerity and compassion with the world’s people.

Ever since July 20th, 1999, overseas Falun Gong practitioners have never stopped their efforts in making peaceful appeals to terminate the persecution. Within the first two weeks immediately following the onslaught of persecution, practitioners had visited nearly every available news media, embassies of 170 countries in the US, and hundreds of US Congress members’ offices in Capital Hill. They tried to help more people understand the oppression and persecution happening in China.

On November 20th, 2001, 36 western Falun Gong practitioners from 10 different countries came to Tiananmen Square for a peaceful appeal.

“Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is good! The whole world knows! Canada knows! The U.S. knows! Europe knows! Falun Dafa is good!” shouted by a young Canadian male, named Zenon Dolnyckyj.

Before going to Beijing for this peaceful appeal, Zenon wrote a letter to explain why he would go to Tiananmen Square. “Falun Dafa came from your land of China and your beautiful and ever-so-rich culture. Without it, I would not be who I am today. With the deepest respect, I have come to your country to stand up for the truth for you. I hope with my white face and pure heart I can awaken the goodness in your heart.”

So far, there have been more than 100 western practitioners from ten-plus countries volunteering to go to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong. They have all had to sacrifice their comfortable lives and risk being arrested and tortured. They sent out their voices clear and loud to the world that the spirit of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance would not be suppressed through violence and lies. The endeavours of Falun Gong practitioners have shown the world their peacefulness, rationality, and perseverance. People’s attitudes have gradually evolved from feeling sympathetic but helplessness into paying respect with confidence.

US Congressman, Mr. Joseph Hoeffel said, “We have to end this persecution of Falun Gong!”

Patricia Ireland, President of the National Organization for Woman, commented, “We can not tolerate this! Can’t we stop it?”

Irwin Cotler, a member of Canadian Parliament, said, “It is our responsibility to do whatever we can”

Scott Reid, also a member of Canadian Parliament, remarked, “Practicing Falun Gong has a lot of benefits.”

Cytheria Malmscher, a member of the European Parliament, wrote, “This has to be stopped! We demand that the Chinese government should stop the persecution against Falun Gong immediately!”

Lina Elmwalin, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, said, “China should pay respect to human rights like other countries.”

Bush Thomas, a Swiss Congressman, said “After so many years of searching, I finally found Falun Gong.”

With the unreserved help from kind-hearted people and governments, several illegally imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners have been rescued and united with their families successfully. On April 24th, 2002, Canadian Congress passed a resolution unanimously to support Falun Gong. The resolution requested China to release all of the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. On July 24th, 2002, US Congress passed Resolution No. 188 unanimously (420-0) to urge Jiang’s regime to stop persecuting Falun Gong. And in the past four years, Falun Gong has won as many as 1,000 awards and recognitions from various countries around the world. This represents the general public’s acknowledgement of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. It is also a huge support to Chinese practitioners stuck in a state of adversity. More and more people realize that the spirit of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance are indestructible. Consequently, confidence has arisen in their minds. No matter how difficult or how bitter it may get, justice will defeat evilness as long as we remain steadfast.

Part Six--Trials

In Chinese history, there never existed a possibility, or a place, where citizens could bring a dictator to justice or those who have committed bloody crimes against innocent people to court. To uphold freedom and dignity for innocent people and to bring an immediate stop to the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have set off on their journey to seek justice by taking legal action. Meanwhile Falun Gong practitioners have encountered tribulations and surmounted enormous difficulties.

In August of 2000, two Chinese Falun Gong practitioners Wang Jie and Zhu Kerming filed a lawsuit based on Chinese law with China People’s Highest Court against Jiang Zemin, Zeng Qinghong and Lou Gan for their crimes of persecuting innocent Falun Gong practitioners. The two practitioners knew very well what final results of the lawsuit would bring them in China under the dictatorship of Jiang Zemin. But unhesitatingly they choose to strike a blow for justice by moving one step further on their epic journey toward justice. Although Wang Jie and Zhu Kermin were immediately arrested and secretly trialed, Falun Gong practitioners have still kept moving forward on this journey toward justice. They have filed international lawsuits against the staff of “610 Office” and those directly involved in the persecution on Falun Gong.

On July 17th and August 27th 2001, families and relatives of the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court against Zhao Zhifei, chief of police and second-in command of the “610 Office” in Hubei Province and Zhou YongKang, provincial party secretary of Sichuan Province. Zhao Zhifei was convicted guilty; however he never dared to step onto the territory of the US. The victory of this case encouraged many justice-seekers.

In September of 2003, Lou Gan, head “610 Office” and Secretary of Communist Political-legal Committee, was sued in Iceland, Finland, Armenia, and Moldova for his crimes of torture and genocide and crimes against humanity.

Moreover, former Beijing Mayor Liu Qi, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province Xia Deren, head of “610 Office” Li Lanqing, and the provincial party secretary of Shandong province Wu Kuanzhen were all charged in the US and Europe with crimes of murder, torture, as well as other crimes against humanity connected with their suppression of Falun Gong.

Among all, Liu Qi and Xia Deren were found guilty and denied foreign sovereign immunity. The case against Li Langing has gone into further judicial investigation.

International lawsuits have been filed against Jiang Zemin, director of this persecution.

On October 17th, 2002, eight Falun Gong practitioners from six different countries filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan for their involvement in the ruthless persecution of Falun Gong. They jointly requested the UN Committee Against Torture, UN Commission on Human Rights and the International Criminal Court to investigate the crimes committed by those three men and to file a lawsuit against them.

On October 18th 2002, an attorney acting on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners submitted a lawsuit to US District Court of the Northern District of Illinois against Jiang and the head of “610 Office” for their crimes of genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity.

On March 18th, 2003, a Switzerland-based international, non-governmental organization called “Track Impunity Always, “along with the Swiss Falun Gong Association, announced in Geneva that once Jiang Zemin stepped onto the territory of Switzerland, he would be brought to justice.

Faced with this lawsuit, Jiang Zemin had no means of any legal action to remove himself from this trouble. Instead he threatened other countries with political, economical, and diplomatic interests in his attempt to escape judgment. On September 12th, 2003, under strong political and diplomatic pressure, the US District Court of the Northern District of Illinois rejected the lawsuit due to Jiang’s privilege of “Head of State Immunity.” However, out of Jiang’s expectation, Falun Gong practitioners did not stop taking legal action to pursue his being brought to justice. On Jan 20th, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit with the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and new legal action has been started. Falun Gong practitioners stated that they would file a lawsuit with the Supreme Court if necessary. Historically speaking, it has been proven that those involved in the persecution against innocent people will be brought to court, no matter how powerful they are or how powerful they used to be.

On Sept 30th, 2003, over 100 groups from Europe, the United States, Asia, and Australia, with the purpose of exposing Jiang’s crimes organized the Global Coalition for Bringing Jiang to Justice. Due to his insistence of forcing the persecution of Falun Gong in China, Jiang is to blame for corrupting morality and degenerating social stability.

Up until March of 2004, international lawsuits against Jiang have been filed in Belgium, the US, Spain, Taiwan, Germany and Korea. In addition, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have listed 45 Chinese officials, among them Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan and Zhou Yongkang, and if any one of them steps onto the territory of Canada, they will be brought to trail and investigated. If the verdict came up as guilty, they would be expelled from the country, or filed with a criminal lawsuit without foreign sovereign immunity.

Canadian Falun Dafa Association also submitted to RCMP a list of more Chinese officials involved in the persecution of Falun Gong.

Every word of truth,
Every deed of goodness,
Every action of justice,
Every awakening out of deception and indifference, is progressively forming an ocean of hope and justice,
Pushing forward these historic trials,
Safeguarding human dignity, morality, and universal values.
The flow of justice will release Chinese people from the shadows of fear and spiritual bondage, and further uphold justice, while reshaping morality.
Therefore, a new era of civilization will begin.
